On the iTunes Store right now, three of the top five “Audio Books” are episodes of the Ricky Gervais show. That’s not what I want to talk about.
Number two says “Stephen Colbert at th…”. Now I was hoping that this was an audiobook version of Stephen Colbert’s Alpha Squad 7: Lady Nocturne: A Tek Jansen Adventure or possibly some other Tek Jansen adventure. Because let’s face it: that’s the sort of thing that every audio book wishes it could be!
Sadly, it’s really “Stephen Colbert at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner” (it costs $2 which is a little steep considering that it’s all over YouTube). In retrospect, this is obvious from the title, but I was just hopeful for a little Tek Jansen. I’ll have to settle for the web serialization, I suppose.
Actually, the most interesting thing is that the only actual audio book is number 4: Getting Unstuck: Breaking Your Habitual Patterns and Encountering Naked Reality by Pema Chodron. While the title is long, it just doesn’t reach out and grab me.
